SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It’s ‘crunch time’ for county auditors across South Dakota. They were left with a narrow window to print ballots because the deadline for candidates to file nominating petitions was just last week. Absentee voting for the June 2nd primary starts next week. Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson says the big question is when will the ballots arrive back from the printers. “We’re going to do everything possible to make sure that those ballots are ready to go on the 17th. If they arrive on the 16th, we’ll stay into the night to make sure that we verify those ballots and make sure they’re good to go.” To complicate matters further, Minnehaha County has 400 different ballot forms this election, because local elections are being combined with the statewide primary election.
