SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police are investigating three reported weapons violations from the weekend – two of them involving guns. A car was damaged as two occupants say they were shot at near 3rd and Van Eps Friday evening. Gunshots were also reported at 12th and Summit Saturday night. There were no injuries in either of those cases.
Police Sgt. Aaron Benson says the third incident involved a stabbing in a business parking lot Friday night around 8:30. “Officers arriving on the scene found the 49-year old victim in a vehicle in the parking lot with a stab wound to her abdomen. Medical aid was given to the victim by officers, then other officers on the scene located the suspect exiting the business nearby, and were able to place her under arrest. ” Benson said a knife was found in the suspect’s possession.
24 Year old Kendra Wanner of Valley Springs was arrested for aggravated assault. Benson says the two were involved in a dispute over property before the stabbing. The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
