PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Today, Governor Larry Rhoden ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in honor of former state legislator Stanford M. Adelstein.
He served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2001-2004 and the South Dakota Senate from 2005-2006 and 2009-2013.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm MT on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at The Monument Fine Arts Theatre, 444 Mount Rushmore Road, Rapid City, SD 57701.
