SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A Social Media scam has cost a 73-year old Sioux Falls woman nearly 400-thousand dollars. Police Information officer Aaron Benson says it was a long-term scam that involved numerous deposits. “Over the course of this last year, the woman involved in this case had sent wire transfers totaling $200-thousand. The victim was later asked if she wanted to invest in a credit card business. She then took out a home equity loan and sent another $197-thousand. The deposits were all made by wire transfer, making it nearly impossible to recover the money.
