UNDATED (KELO.com) — 15 South Dakota legislative candidates are asking for a cease and desist order over a campaign mailer. The mailer was sent by Dakota First Action, a political action committee. It aligns the legislative candidates with Gubernatorial Candidate Toby Doeden, even though they’ve endorsed a different candidate. Doeden told Dakota News Now he isn’t affiliated with the PAC and was unaware of its endorsement.
In District 25, three legislative candidates included in the mailer have all endorsed House Majority Leader Jon Hansen in the governor’s race. They are all from the Dell Rapids area – including Hansen – and say the mailer is misleading by giving the appearance they support Doeden.
