SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –The South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls is introducing Tabatha Benting as interim Warden.
Former Warden Joseph Roemmich is no longer employed with the South Dakota Department of Corrections.
State DOC Secretary Nick Lamb said in a statement that there are no criminal investigations associated with the changes.
He added that the department is “making some personnel changes consistent with the agency’s mission.”
Gov. Larry Rhoden issued a stamp of approval saying Secretary Lamb is, “a strong leader, and he clearly shares my mission to keep South Dakota strong, safe, and free.”
