PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — More than 33-hundred people are on parole in South Dakota, and the state Corrections Commission says over 100 of them are absconders with warrants issued for their arrest. That means the parolees have lost contact with their parole officer or efforts to contact the parolee have been exhausted. The Commission also released information this week showing the average parole agent has a caseload of 68 parolees. The Commission is asking for an increase in the number of parole officers.
